The ACR, ( American College of Radiology), is the FDA appointed accrediting body for all mammography units. To be accredited the facility must be maintained at the highest level of quality. The ACR has determined standards for all personnel, equipment, quality control and assurance programs, image quality, breast dose, and processor quality. In order to become Accredited you must submit all necessary tests and data that pertain to your facility. They are then analyzed to ensure that all data falls within their guidelines. After achieving accreditation, you must then continue to maintain all standards necessary for future inspections.
Emery Medical Solutions, Inc. became an ACR Accredited facility in April 2006.
